When planning a journey, you may ask yourself some of the following questions about what to take with you.
Last but not least: You must not strain yourself! Learn to trust your gut feeling and pay attention to the signals of your body.
Once you have finished your preparations, weigh your packed backpack. The average weight should be around 10 % of your body weight (plus ~2 kilograms). After all, the equipment weight depends on your body's conditions, the climate changes and the entire travel duration.
To avoid blisters, break in new boots for approximately 60 kilometers prior to departure. Also, wear your fully packed backpack including drinking water and food. Walk on rainy, cold and hot days in order to develop a feeling for adequate equipment.
The equipment shown in the gallery below suppose to be an example only. Before packing certain items, please inform yourself about any disadvantages or risks. Everything you take along should make sense to you.
Enjoy your trip and have an exciting and safe journey!
