CAMINO FRANCÉS
The Camino Francés is probably the most well-known camino to Santiago, since its way led thousands and thousands of European pilgrims over the ages to their final pilgrimage destination. It starts in the town of Puente la Reina (Spain), where two Pyrenean ways — the Aragonese and the Navarrese — finally join.
The French way is among the most beautiful Caminos de Santiago. Starting from the Pyrenees this way crosses four different landscapes: the Navarrese foothills of the lower Western Pyrenees, the wine region of La Rioja, the plateau Meseta with its grain growing region of Castilla y León and finally the eucalyptus forests of the Galician hinterland.
